Education for a rewarding career in Early Childhood Education and Care

Children are a true pride and joy. They are demanding, mischievous and also wonderful, loving and just amazing.

Many of us at Advanced Education Australia are parents ourselves and we know what it’s like being on the ‘receiving end’ of child care from many viewpoints. From those that treat children as numbers, to those that care for them as their own; you get massive variances in the quality in Australia.

We don’t like this situation of course as it all should be outstanding and we are doing our part to setup people for success in child care. In our courses we teach the fundamentals, give the practical experience and also pride ourselves on making sure we have the right people in our community who really love nurturing and helping children.

To succeed here, we offer two powerful courses that we recommend to many;

CHC30113 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care:

This is a strong entry type of course offering pathways into childcare. It’s a 52 week and 18 unit course that gives graduates the ability to serve the industry and work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.

A great place to start for many.

CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care:

This is a powerful course for those who want to go high and far in child care. It’s a 52 week and 28 unit course being our advanced qualification. This paves the way for those who want to lead, design curriculum and manage others in delivering quality outcomes.

The perfect education for those on a mission.

We love beauty. We seriously do. Nothing beats helping people become even more beautiful and we are very grateful to have thousands of students be part of our community over the years.

All the time we hear success stories of students who have gone on to achieve amazing things. From those who become powerful professionals to those that go in the business direction; it all makes it worth it in the end.

We offer a range of courses at Advanced Education Australia (with the Sydney College of Skin Care one of its brands) and these are our top recommendations depending on what you are after:

SHB50115 – Diploma of Beauty Therapy:

This is the highest qualification in beauty therapy. It teaches the key power skills including facial treatments, body treatments, waxing, make-up and more. It is the base education to help one go on to become a leading Beauty Therapist.

SHB50216 – Diploma of Salon Management:

This leading qualification is based on the ‘business / dollars’ side of the beauty industry. Running a salon takes more than knowing how to do a set of lashes and this is where we address the serious soft and hard skills. Many go on to do this after learning the basics.

CUA51015 – Diploma of Screen and Media (Make-up):

This is a great qualification for those wanting to go in the ‘specialist’ direction and in particular break into the commercial side of make-up artistry. This can be one profitable and powerful area to work in.

Our advice?

We run courses both online and face to face with our beautiful college in Sydney CBD (based in Surry Hills just near Central Station). Government Funding is available for these as well and to learn more please review our website and contact us.

Our Career Advisors will speak to you, give you some key insights and do their utmost best to help point you in the right direction to achieve your study and professional goals.

Here to help and thank you for reading this on behalf of Advanced Education Australia and the Sydney College of Skin Care.

What skills/attributes do potential beauty industry employees need to have? The technical skills are a given – we recommend to get the highest qualification, such as a diploma, whenever possible. Not only does it mean that the Therapist should have a more in-depth knowledge of a wider ranges of skills, but it can also mean the difference in gaining employment. A good Therapist will be knowledgeable in the technical skills needed to perform their role – but a great Therapist will also hone their people skills. We believe that someone will book in for a service but rebook for the Therapist.

This world is becoming increasingly obsessed with information. The field of beauty blogging/writing is becoming more popular with beauty therapists, with more consumers doing their own research prior to making a purchase and seeking expert opinions. Beauty therapists are in an ideal position to write articles or columns where they can share their skills, knowledge and views.

Hotel resort beauty therapist:

Working for a beautiful holiday destination is a very popular choice for Beauty Therapists too. Hotel resort treatments tend to include more luxurious and lengthy packages using high end products. The joy of working at a hotel resort for a beauty therapist is that salons are usually in beautiful settings with magnificent views.
Sales roles may suit you as well. Many beauty therapists find fulfilling careers by working for cosmetics or skincare companies in sales roles. This can involve working from home and demonstrating to small groups, or as part of a small team instore.
