At AEA, during our Beauty Courses we focus on all treatments, skills and tricks so that our students get all the knowledge of Beauty skills and become good at them. It will give them confidence and make them industry ready when the graduate and go into work force.
This week at Sydney College of Skin Care we have been focusing on facial electrical treatment. Such as Galvanic. Galvanic can sometimes sound scary but when used correctly is a very powerful treatment that can be amazing for different skin conditions. For example;
1. Desincrustation, this is a deep cleansing treatment that softens sebum and is the ideal treatment for oily or congested skins.
2. It can be used after cleansing and if appropriate after a facial steam.
When carrying out a Desincrustation treatment you must first prepare your client for the treatment. You must ensure that;
1. There are no contra- Indications to the treatment, all jewelry is removed and the skin is clean.
2. Be aware of very nervous clients, a proper explanation and reassurance of the treatment should help with these particular clients.
You will then need to apply a desincrustation fluid which you can purchase at your suppliers, it must be a negative polarity. However, you can conveniently make you own made from sodium chloride (bi-carb soda) mixed with water and the placed on to the skin surface, or on the area to be treated, followed by the use of a positively charged electrode or rod which must be covered with a thick viscous damp sponge, and placed in to you client’s hand.
Depending on the area to be treated and the skin type timing should be between 3-5 minutes. The whole face should not take any longer than 5 minutes. Although ensure to follow manufactures guidelines to clarify.
